Western lowland gorillas live in lowland tropical forests in Cameroon, the Central African Republic, the Republic of the Congo, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Angola, and Nigeria. 

The lowland gorilla is the smallest subspecias of gorilla. A male standing erect can be 5-6 feet (1.5-1.8m) tall and weigh 300-600 pounds (140-270 kg).
