This extinct skull is an exact replica of a Sabertooth Cat, measuring 13" long, 8" wide and 12" high.  It includes a solid oak display base for mounting in the attack position. The original Smilodon fatalis fossil is housed at the Page Museum at the Rancho La Brea Tar Pits. Smilodon californicus is another recognized name, but usually considered to be a subspecies of Smilodon fatalis. This model is available in two finishes, Antique White and Tar Pit Brown. By far our most popular piece, this replica will arrive well-packaged and ready for you to display. This beautiful conversation piece can also be used for study by professionals and students. The cranium and mandible are detachable for ease of study from all angles.
